Synopsis

"Nathalie Baye, who received this year's César for best actress, leads an outstanding ensemble as a Parisian detective and recovering alcoholic who teams with a bright-eyed rookie. Two years sober, Inspector Caroline Vaudieu is an elegant 50ish supercop returning to the helm of a criminal unit after the relative safety of a desk job. Newcomer Antoine inspires Caroline's maternal affection; he's about the same age as her son would be, had he not died in childhood. Antoine impulsively chooses a Paris assignment as a ticket out of Normandy (and eagerly) throws himself into the case at hand -- a series of murders of street people on the banks of the Seine." -THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER
