Secret People

A FILM BY Thorold Dickinson

Two girls come from abroad to a small Paddington cafe in the London of 1930, run by Anselmo, an ebullient South European. They are sisters - Maria and Nora - aged 19 and 10. They have been entrusted to Anselmo by their father, an outspoken writer threatened by his own country's police. He has sacrificed himself to save his daughters, while Louis, the young man Maria loves, has stayed behind to continue the struggle.
