Synopsis

Robert Sandrich (Peter Saarsgard) is a fledging screenwriter whose life changes when he is offered a million dollars for his latest and most personal work: The Dying Gaul, the raw, heartbreaking autobiographical story of the death of his gay lover. But there’s a catch, the studio thinks the project will only work if Robert changes his dead lover to a woman. Things get further complicated as Jeffrey (Campbell Scott), the smooth, ruthless studio executive chasing after the screenplay, lures Robert into an affair with his wife Elaine (Patricia Clarkson). The Dying Gaul is a wholly original tale of lust, power, corruption, betrayal and revenge set in the seductive world of the Hollywood elite.
