Christina Clausen's documentary offers an affectionate and deeply personal glimpse into Haring's life, from his early years growing up in a small, conservative Pennsylvania town to his heyday as a world-renowned artist, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Madonna, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol. THE UNIVERSE OF KEITH HARING includes audio excerpts from original interviews with Keith Haring conducted by his biographer John Gruen (Keith Haring: the Authorized Biography, Simon and Schuster, 1991). This film features interviews with Fred Brathwaite (A.K.A. Fab 5 Freddy), David LaChapelle, Hans Mayer, Samantha McEwen, Carlo McCormick, Roger Nellens, Yoko Ono, the Haring family and many other people touched by the life and art of Keith Haring.
