Synopsis

1995, Paris. Retired Colonel Raoul Duplan was found at his home, shot in the head. An anonymous letter was sent to investigators: "The colonel died in Saint-Arnaud". 1957, St. Arnaud, eastern Algeria: a young officer/lawyer, Guy Rossi takes office with Colonel Duplan. The machine of special powers and institutionalized torture begins quietly under way. She will turn the lawyer into an executioner, and catch up with Duplan forty years later.
