Synopsis
Ed Solomon's Levity -- the opening night film at 2002's Sundance Film Festival -- stars a stellar cast that includes Billy Bob Thornton, Holly Hunter, Morgan Freeman and Kirsten Dunst. When Manual (Thornton) is released from prison after 22 years, he seeks redemption by befriending Adele (Hunter), the sister of the 16-year-old boy he killed. But things get complicated when Manual can't bring himself to tell Adele his true identity. The film marks the directorial debut of Ed Solomon, the screenwriter responsible for such films as Men in Black and the two Ted and Bill films. Solomon, who also wrote the script for Levity, came up with the idea, while tutoring at a maximum-security prison during his college years at UCLA.
