About Us
Metropole Films launched in January 2006 with the objective to bring the best of international and national cinema to Quebec cinephiles.
Since our inception, Metropole Films has had the privilege of distributing three Palme d'or winners, 4 Months, 3 Weeks, 2 Days (2007), The Class (2008); and The White Ribbon (2009); three Academy Award winners The Lives of Others (2007), and The Counterfeiters (2008), The Secret in their Eyes; and many other award winning films from around the world, such as The Secret of the Grain, Persepolis, I've Loved You So Long, Il Divo and The Edge of Heaven.
Each year we distribute over 40 films in theatres and double that on DVD and blu-ray. Our mandate is to acquire films in festivals and markets from around the world, and to feature the finest of Quebec based producers. We also have the exclusive rights to distribute the prestigious catalogue of World cinema from Mongrel Media (www.mongrelmedia.com) in Quebec.
